Welcome to BarbaraWysocki.com

Good day.  Glad our paths crossed today.  As a freelance writer, I focus on travelart and volunteering abroad.  I’m eager to share my interest in new places and my knowledge of destinations such as my birthplace, New York, my home in Connecticut and the moments I’ve found exhilarating from New Zealand to New England.   When I’m not on an airplane or strolling through a museum, I work as a children’s librarian. Digging into children’s literature to compile subject bibliographies and reviewing audio media for young people is another way of exploring.   Let’s journey with words and pictures.

With footsteps on every continent, Barbara Wysocki writes about travel, art, children’s literature and spirituality.  Home is Connecticut, but Barbara’s assignments for National Geographic Traveler, Yankee, Art & Antiques, Arthur Frommer’s Budget Travel, Christian Science Monitor, Westways, Northern New England Journey and Art New England keep her exploring both near and far.  Online credits include National Geographic Intelligent Travel and AAA World.  Here are a few highlights:

Barbara invites you to join her for an armchair adventures and observations about culture and children’s literature articles.  I capture children’s literature writing features and audiobook reviews for School Library Journal and online at Curriculum Connections.
